I’m Ben Lucas, a Tacoma based wedding photographer. I studied photography at the University of Washington, and have been in business for the last 10+ years.
Early in my career, I worked with modeling agencies and casting directors learning everything about how our bodies work: posing, angles, micro-expressions. My shooting approach is very direct, taking that extra second to raise a good photo up to extraordinary. You’re going to get the same detailed attention as the movie stars because you deserve it. Together, we’ll make your Hollywood moment. Every photo that leaves my studio is going to be magazine cover quality. My fiancee and I spent several months looking for a photographer, in fact it was the final piece of the wedding that needed to be put-in-place. We did our engagement photos with Ben. He was great! He was flexible with going to the location of our choice. It was in July but the weather ended up being rainy and thunder stormy. Ben used it to his advantage and we got some cool shots in the fog on the beach. He was really easy going and great to work with!

Working with Ben Lucas was a fantastic experience! His response to our questions was timely and we appreciated how wonderfully flexible he was with us during our planning. He was also very informative and he assembled photo packages customized to suit us. On our wedding, Ben was punctual and professional. As Ben began taking photographs of our venue his attention to detail and passion for what he does truly shone through. Although we were self-conscious of the camera at first, we were eventually able to relax as we chatted with him. We soon forgot entirely about the camera as we laughed through our pictures and shared beautiful moments together. The final product was great and we ended up adding large prints to our original order. The quality was far beyond what we might have expected and well worth the investment. Ben was excellent! I was so busy, as the bride, planning everything else, when Ben asked for details about what I wanted with the photos I just gave him one requirement. I didn’t want random people in the background of the photos. Wouldn’t have been a big deal except the location I chose was the very center of one of the largest cities in the world. He took that and a few other details and created a stunning collection of memories from my wedding. Highly recommended.

We couldn’t be happier with Ben’s great work! His style and insights were really helpful to us as we planned posed photos, and we’re thrilled with his work.
