Proposals are a big deal. If you haven’t popped the question yet, then you’ve come to the right place. I’ll walk you through the entire process and together, we will craft the proposal story you’ll be excited to tell over and over (and over) again.
Step 1: Determine Your Proposal Approach
There are a million different details that make it unique, but your proposal will probably happen one of two ways. First, whether it’s a family gathering or a cozy photoshoot, everyone knows I’ll be there. Only you and I will know a proposal is about to happen! Second choice, I’ll hide out at the proposal location and take photos (hopefully) surprising your lovely significant other. Either way, after you pop the question we can take a few minutes to do a portrait session of the two of you where the emotions are high and joy is authentic and unparalleled. Which one of these you choose will determine what locations are possible which brings us to…
Step 2: Choose a Location
When picking a location, you might already have something in mind. Whether it’s a state fair or your favorite hiking trail, it should be meaningful to the two of you. Be aware of what is possible in each location (I can of course help you with that). Don’t choose an empty field with nowhere for me to hide if you want it to be a surprise! Crowds are better hiding spots than remote duck blinds anyway. Once you have your heart set on the ‘where’, let’s move on to the ‘how’.
Step 3: Nailing the Details
Once I have your big picture in mind, I can help with time of day, directing you to the right light, which way to face, and everything else you need to know to have a perfect proposal picture to go along with your story. Of course, when they say “yes”, we can take a few moments to have a mini-shoot. The rest, as they say, will be history.
